Regarding the debate, what is very important is that 13 000 years back, the sea level was 300 feet below the present sea level.India and Sri Lanka was one land mass. With sea level going up slowly and steadily to say 20 feet below the existing sea level, there was a continous land strip like a broad road an the Adam's bridge to Sri Lanka,a road the Veddhas of Sri Lanka would have used to go there. As the sea level rose further to ten feet below the present sea level, that could have been some 5000/6000 years back, tidal waves could have eroded the road in various placesThe inhabitants of that place could have repaired it from time to time. There would have been human settlements along this region. This could be a haven for fishing comunity The question is has the Geological Department and the ArcheologicalDepartment done any work to find human civilisation along the strech of the Adam's bridge?,marking probable waterline in the last 13 000/15 000 years of its evolution, more particularly because of the Ramayana epic having a strong influence on the heritage of India. I have written a number of articles on Sethu project. One article is titled 'Ecological Disaster in the Making'.For more please log on Google and click K.V.S.Krishna,Chennai.
